History

 

     1978 - Sammy Hammons is first introduced with Tommy Brown, his Industrial

                  Technology professor at Eastern Kentucky University.

 

     1979 - They begin doing some contract tool and die work together. 

 

     1984 - They purchase six acres in Richmond, Kentucky and build what is now the

               home of B&H Tool Works, Inc.

 

     1985 - Mr. Hammons and Mr. Brown add six shareholders to B&H and purchase its

                 first Wire EDM machine and add another the following year.

 

     1989 - B&H recognizes the growing importance of computer-aided drafting in the tooling

                 industry and begins using CAD.  It also purchases a 300-ton tryout press and a

                 small CNC machine.

 

     1991 - B&H purchases a Mitsubishi Machining Center.

 

     1993 - B&H purchases a Leblond Makino Machining Center and Surfcam software.

 

     1994 - B&H decides to expand its own metal stamping production and begins using

               Made2Manage management software to further increase productivity.

 

     1997 - B&H Tool Works, Inc. of Rockcastle is opened in Mount Vernon, Kentucky to

               help support the Richmond facility's growth.

 

     1998 - B&H becomes ISO certified and adds a variety of equipment to its

               ever-increasing capabilities.

 

     1999 - The Rockcastle facility becomes ISO certified.

 

     2000 - B&H purchases a Renishaw Cyclone Series 2 Digitizer.

 

     2003 - B&H purchases a Prima Domino 5-Axis 1500 HD Laser.

 

     2005 - B & H adds an Agiecut Classic 3S Gold Edition Wire EDM System and a

                  Kitamura MyCenter 7X Vertical Machining Center.

 

     2006 - 300 Ton Minster Press is added to production capabilities.

     Our mission is to grow and prosper as a result of our ability to satisfy customers needs and

products in a timely manner and at a competitive price.

 

     We have  a unique competitive advantage compared to others in our line of business because

we contain the best of both worlds -- the flexibility and versatility of a small company and the

process systems of a large company.

 

     B&H Tool Works, Inc. of Richmond is a 80,000 square foot facility with over 100 employees

and annual sales of approximately $10 to $15 million a year.

 

     B&H Tool Works, Inc. of Rockcastle is our 24,000 square foot second facility and is

located in Mount Vernon, Kentucky.  It currently employs approximately 30 people with annual

sales ranging from $2 to 5 million.

 

     We support several major industries including automotive, consumer goods, defense and

government contracting, energy, and robotics as well as several surrounding tooling and machining

job shops.
